Smart Grow

The Challenge/Goal: To establish a compelling and modern brand identity for Smart Grow, an indoor farming startup offering an innovative vertical farming system. The primary goal was to appeal to city dwellers – hobbyists and small business owners – who seek year-round, locally grown produce and aim to minimize food miles, all without reliance on natural sunlight. The brand needed to convey innovation, freshness, and accessibility.

My Process/Solution: I developed a comprehensive visual identity for Smart Grow that reflects its cutting-edge technology and commitment to sustainable living. This included designing a distinctive logo, featuring both a unique logotype and a memorable wordmark, to ensure strong brand recognition. My work extended to crafting the “look & feel” for their mobile and desktop applications, ensuring a seamless and intuitive user experience that resonated with the target audience’s appreciation for fresh, local produce. Additionally, I designed essential brand collateral such as visit cards and printed advertisements, maintaining a consistent and appealing aesthetic across all touchpoints.

The Outcome/Impact: The created brand identity effectively positions Smart Grow as a leading solution for urban indoor gardening. The cohesive visual system, spanning from the logo to the app’s user interface and print materials, successfully communicates the startup’s innovative approach and appeals directly to its target demographic, promoting year-round growth and reduced food miles.
